Gonzalo Higuain Completes Loan Transfer to Chelsea

On January 23rd, 2019, the 31 year old Argentinian Striker Gonzalo Higuain finalized his loan transfer to London club Chelsea. Higuain brings a veteran presence to the club, with accomplishments such as being the top Serie A single season goal scorer and being apart of title winning teams with Real Madrid and Juventus. With Morata leaving to go on loan, Higuain may be able to be the clinical finisher that Chelsea needs.

  1. Hi. I am a huge fan of your blog. I think Higuain and Morata are both amazing. I have always loved Morata since he was a young lad on Madrid. I followed him on Instagram when he only had 1k followers and when he was rated a 70 in FIFA. This was years ago. When Morata was linked to AC Milan I got so happy, then he moved to Chelsea and I was very happy also. Higuain is also one of my favorites. He also came to Milan and I was sooo happy. When he left to Chelsea I was indifferent. He wasn't great with Milan but I think him working with Sarri will be good, since he did that before.

  3. I think Higuain also could be really helpful in developing Christain Pulisic. Chelsea just spent a decent amount of money on the American striker, so I think it's smart of Chelsea to bring him in. Higuain, like you said, knows how to finish well. I think this is also insurance just in case some of Chelsea's new players can't provide as much as the club initially thought. On the other hand, do you think this will hinder the time that Pulisic sees as a starter?

    1. I do not think this will hinder Pulisic' development. They play different positions and I think Pulisic will receive adequate play time.

  4. Higuain is a pronounced winner in the Italian league, and I see him bringing that tenaciousness to Chelsea immediately. Compared to where Chelsea has been in the past, they have been struggling as an organization. Hopefully Higuain, a talented goal scorer, and the young and rising star, Pulisic, can add the needed spark that the team has been looking for this season. I think this is a phenomenal get for Chelsea and I'm excited to see the impact.

  5. I do not know too much about Higuain, but I do think adding veterans is always a great move. Experience will help the team both on and off the field.. Higuain will help Chelsea be more confident on the pitch and he will be a vital piece in the locker room teaching the young stars about preparation and practice.

  6. I do not know much about Gonzalo Higuain, but I think he will be a great addition to Chelsea in the Champions League. His age and experience will benefit the team, as he will serve as a role model for the younger players. Hopefully Higuain will help develop the young Pulisic and the team will prosper in Champions League. I am excited to see these two athletes are going to accomplish.

  7. Although I do not know much more about Gonzalo Higuain than what you've put in your article, it does seem like this could be a good fit for the club. I do know Morata and with him on loan they definitely needed to fill that spot/presence. I also believe his veteran knowledge and consistency in winning is exactly what the club needs right now. He will definitely be a great role player for the team.

  8. His experience will add to an upcoming Chelsea team. I think it was a great move on their part. He will be a great mentor to rising stars like Pulisic and give this club a veteran presence as they try to make a run in the English Premier League as they sit 6th.

    1. Chelsea has not been performing up to the talent on their squad. With some luck Higuain will be the presence they need to take it to the next level. They can do better than 6th.
